This course has been created in response to an increased demand for Talking Mats® training, including requests for people to become trainers in their own organisations. The course will allow for the integrity of the model to be maintained and quality training to be provided.

This is an in-depth and hands-on course providing detailed information and practice concerning the training of groups of people in the use of Talking Mats. All those on the course will already have attended a Talking Mats training course and have considerable experience of Talking Mats. This experience forms part of the course, with participants asked to provide a DVD showing their own use of Talking Mats. There will be a focus on how to provide a constructive framework to allow people to learn from their videos, how to manage group dynamics, updates on the latest Talking Mats research and answers to those frequently asked questions.

Trainers are accredited to run a two part Talking Mats course. These courses take place in two half day sessions with participants expected to make a DVD of their use of Talking Mats between the two sessions. This is a highly reflective training.

What do we provide?

3. We provide consultancy partnerships with organisations to improve their services to people with communication disability

4. We carry out research to develop and expand the underlying evidence base for ways to improve the lives of people with communication difficulties.
