Augmentative Communication in Practice:Scotland
Augmentative Communication in Practice is an open group composed of people in Scotland who have an active interest in AAC– users of AAC, families, carers and professionals from a variety of different disciplines.

Communication Matters

Dementia Services Development Centre - Stirling University
The Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) at the University of Stirling develops services for people with dementia and their carers. It provides training and information for nurses, people working in nursing homes, home care workers, psychiatrists of old age, social workers, police officers and those working in the voluntary sector.

Coming of Age, 19–21 October 2010
The DSDC’s 4th International Conference is aimed at all those who support people with dementia and their carers, whether their background is in social care, planning, commissioning, research, healthcare or social service provision. The content will be of interest to people in the statutory, ndependent and third sectors, as well as community representatives such as police, faith leaders and elected representatives. People with dementia and
their carers are also welcomed. The conference will address many of the crucial issues raised by the National Dementia Strategy.

Contains one of the largest and most influential academic groups in the world researching into communication systems for disabled people.
